Congratulations to the Rhythmic Gymnast Queen -- Alina Kabayeva who became the youngest RG world champion at the age of 15 and dominated the sports ever since. Now, she has finally dominated the biggest goal of any rhythmic gymnast's dream -- the Athens Olympics. The slip of the hoop incident that occured in Sydney Olympics must have affected her a little as she seemed to be a bit tense before her last apparatus, and she looked so grim and was full of dignity, earning everyone's respect because she made the decision of not to rejoice or celebrate too soon even though she has 60% of twirling with the gold with whatever way she likes, because there are 9 other gymnasts after her. All the girls there, with their glittery makeup and magnificent costume designs really earn my respect as they show no tantrums or diva attitude at some unfair scoring. In my opinion, Almudena Cid of Spain who is in her 3rd trip to Olympics is in a class of her own, because she belongs to the last generation where expressiveness matters most in performance. She was exquisite and the crowd knew it even though the judges didnt think so. Silver medalist Irina Tchachina remains her cool from the beginning to the end, she is flowy, smooth and brilliant at times. Anna Bessonova whom i absolutely love clinched the bronze. Such a sweetie with incredibly long, smooth lines complemented by her fine legs. She is like the gothic princess out there.
